The Rest of Halloween



With all the fun we had this Halloween, I think I will always try and take this non-holiday off!

The kids were so excited to get treats at the houses! Madelyn kept saying yeah candy!

Halloween Morning

Minnie Mouse colouring box.  Note the nest she has of markers, blankets and friends in the box.  She did this for about an hour, that is decorate the box.

Skeletons

We also made skeletons tonight.  The plan is  to take them to daycare to kick off Halloween week!

Pumpkins

 

Tonight we carved/painted our pumpkins.  You might remember from a previous post that these are pumpkins we grew in our garden.

 

 

The kids were so excited to be painting and carving pumpkins, they ran around the house yell "I'm so excited" for about 20 minutes while we finished up supper dishes and got set up. Honestly I would say the lead up to carving was more exciting than the actual task.

I really think I should cut this girls bangs again....

Artist at work, once again Madelyn painted about ten times longer then Will.  But they both had fun!

Mine is on the left, Chris' on the right.  Will picked out designs.  Daddy needed to make a sad, 3 eyed jack-o-lantern with a round nose and Mommy's was happy with triangle eyes.

Ghosts

Tonight we made ghosts, the kids had a blast gluing on the cotton balls (or marshmallows as Madelyn called them).

A New Cousin

We are very excited to welcome Haley Dianne Volk into the world today.  When I first told Will that Auntie Beth had her baby he was kind of impartial to the idea.  Then when the "c" word came out and he figured out that Haley is his newest cousin he was very excited. Madelyn well it is cute to listen to her say Haley!

Congratulations to Uncle Bob and Auntie Beth! We cannot wait to meet Haley! Perhaps I need to start looking for seat sales, this Auntie may have to find a way to come up and snuggle a baby!

Weekend Visit

We were fortunate to have company come visit this weekend.  It is always nice to have people come and visit at your house and the kids played great. 

We went to the corn maze on Saturday afternoon then the Moose Jaw Western Development Museum on Sunday.

Big Girls Bed - Update

The night went great! Madelyn called for us about 5:45 this morning, which she does occassionally, we ignored for for a few minutes and she went back to sleep, it is now after 7:00 and she is still fast asleep! I guess she needed a sleep in morning in her new bed.

On another note Will slept till 7 as well, sleep ins all around!

Now to get ready for a fun weekend!

Big Girl Bed

Tonight is night #1 for Maddie in her big girl bed! 

She was so excited to help build her big girl bed and go to bed tonight! Let's hope that means she sleeps right through the night:)

Madelyn was so excited for her big girl blanket, she kept tell Will he was not allowed on it.  Of course her pink blankeys and baby had to be right there with her!
