Happy Birthday Chris!

Happy birthday to the best husband and Daddy!

When I asked Will what kind of cake we should make Daddy for his birthday, I was expecting a response such as chocolate.  Nope, I was told Police Car cake.

So the kids and I tackled a Police Car cake.  I will not divulge how old he is but if you are extra observant the pictures may give it away!

Santa Clause Parade

Waiting at the parade

Madelyn laying in the snow

Watching.

On Daddy's shoulders

Big Balloons

Will waving!

Will's favourite part the soldiers.

Santa Clause, Will was disappointed he was not riding his sleigh on the snow and that the reindeer were not real.  But was still excited about Santa.

Tuckered out Madelyn! I had to wake her for supper!

Makes sense an almost 4 year old....

Will to Mommy, "When I was a baby, i used to drink milk from your boobies right?"
Mommy "Yes, you did Will"
Will "Just like baby calves drink from their mommy"
Mommy "Yes, that is right Will"
Will "But Mommy, how did you get cow's milk into your boobies?"
Mommy "Ummm, actually Will Mommy's make milk for their babies"
Will "Oh, okay"

Glad it ended there! Will then asked if I wanted to hear a song about t-rex. it went like this.

T-rex, t-rex, has big teeth
just like toothless on how to train a dragon.
T-rex, t-rex has a big tongue
just like toothless on how to train a dragon,
But t-rex can't lick his arm,
because its too short to reach his mouth.

How do you like that t-rex song?

I had to respond "I love it!"

Cow Meat

Conversation driving home from daycare....

Will asks "What are we having for supper?"
My response, "hamburger helper".
Will "Oh, like cow meat?"
Me "Yes"
Will "Which Grandpa shot this cow?"
Me "Grandpa Peter"
Will "That's good I like meat that Grandpa shoots."
Me "Yes, it is yummy."
Will "Yup, Mommy remember you were in Australia when Grandpa shot the cow and took the fur off. Good thing he took the fur off cuz that would not taste good."
Me "I agree Will"
Will "Mommy if we ate the cows fur it would be like cows eating that pokey grass, it would get stuck in our throats and we would cough."
Me "Maybe Will, the cows fur is called the hide"
Will "Yes, Mom I know, then if the hide got stuck in our throats we would have to go to the doctor to get it taken out"
Me "I supposed so..."
Will "Yup, sure was nice of Grandpa to shot us a cow and make it into meat.
Me "Yes it was Will"

I am sure most people have these conversations with a not quite 4 year old.

Lost a year off my life...

We were out at the farm over the long weekend, actually the kids and I arrived Thursday and Chris met us there Friday.  So anyways, the kids and I are sleeping over at my brother's house who was gone for the weekend.  Friday morning about 5:45 Will comes to get me and says "Mommy I can hear my sister, she needs you".  I sent the dear boy back to bed and go to check on Madelyn, who is sleeping on the floor in a bedroom.  I go in and can hear her calling me but I cannot find her.  Finally I realised she is under the bed, yelling "Mommy, Madelyn Stuck!" I get down and try to pull her out but she is too far back and I cannot reach her.  I am calling her and telling her to come wiggle out to Mommy.  I start to panic, what if she is really stuck under the bed, how will I get her out?  I had narrowed it down to one of two scenarios:
1. Get Will up and have him try to crawl under and pull her out, or out enough so I can get her.
2. Call over and get Dad to come help lift the bed off the frame so I can get her out.

Just as I was about to go get Will, she wiggled out just enough so I could get her arm and pull her out!  I snuggled her for a bit and then said still Night Night.  She said "No, Madelyn get stuck!" So I did what any good Mom would do, I brought her into bed with me where she zonked back out until after 8!

And that ladies and gentlemen is how I lost a year off my life this weekend!

Snow and Puffy Paint

On Friday we got our first real snowfall of the winter, I am hoping it will still melt but I am guessing this is our welcome to winter.

Kids both had a blast in the snow, but Will loves the snow and proudly announced to me that now that it has snowed it is time for Christmas.

So this is snow.....

Getting a ride!

Loving this snow!

Catching a ride too!
With the cold and snowy/rainy (yes we have had both) weekend we thought we had best take on a craft and puffy paint it was.  I seen this in pinterest where you mix up flour, baking powder, salt and water.  Add food colouring, paint and then microwave for about 30 seconds and homemade puffy paint.  This was a lot of fun and Will asked when we can do it again!

Why are you always taking my picture?

Hard at work!

Showing off her art to Daddy!

A picture from the side trying to show how puffy it is.
