So our Elf's name is Jingles, and he arrived the morning of Dec 1. I hope the kids enjoy looking for Jingles each morning. Maybe you will see nightly posts of what Jingles has been up too.

Elf on the Shelf
Last year I was not sold on the whole Elf on the Shelf idea, however after listening to the Mom's at preschool talk about how much fun they had with it and how much the kids loved it we have decided to embrace the tradition or jump on the bandwagon.

Grey Cup Weekend
We had a great and busy Grey Cup weekend, complete with celebrating 2 birthdays and a Rider Grey Cup win!
We enjoyed having family in the city to take in the Grey Cup festivities, unfortunately it was cold. We did not take in too many events but still enjoyed the company and Grey Cup atmosphere.
Saturday was Chris birthday and we brave the -35 degrees to see the parade. It was a great parade but cold. Abigail stayed home with Grandma. Will and Madelyn made it almost to the end of the parade. Poor Maddy was a cold and promptly had a warm bath when we got home. Everything filled up early in terms of pavilions for the grey cup, most of the crew did hit up the Edmonton Eskimo pavilion Saturday afternoon. Then we had a birthday supper for Chris and Auntie here.
Sunday was Auntie Jen's birthday. I will not say how old she turned but we gave her 30 gifts to celebrate, complete with showercap, rollers, bright red lipstick, a Northgate Mall walking club membership etc.
Of course we finished the weekend off watching the Riders win the Grey Cup with Auntie (others were at the game). Will was into watching the game and Chris had both kids chanting HENRY! It was a lot of fun and yes they stayed up to see the Riders get the Grey Cup!

Rolling
Someone figured out how to move back to tummy. Now all she has to do is put both together and nothing will be safe... I can see a baby gate coming up before Christmas.

Gymnastics
Last night was the last gymnastics class for the fall session. Both Will and Madelyn love gymnastics and asked to go in again after Christmas. Madelyn will be going into Gymbear 1 which is a 45 minute class and William into Gymbear 3 which is an hour.
This session the classes were different for William as he no longer did circuits but more technique on different stations. For example he would be on the bars for 10 minutes doing difference things, more floor time, they were even doing backwards summersaults.
I love gymnastics for young kids as it is great excercise, develops great motor skills and balance, teaches them to take turns, listen to their instructor and most of all they love it.
Abigail also enjoyed watching gymnastics and we had a great time visiting with people while we watched.
Just finished a summersault. Hard to get pictures of Will this session as they were rarely close to the stands during their class.

Strangers
Yesterday I was talking to Will and Madelyn about strangers and not going with strangers or anyone without first asking Mom or Dad. Will aka Mr. rules caught on right away and said so even if we want to go with grandpa to wash his car we have to ask you first.
Next I asked what they would do if someone said I have candy for you if you come into my car. Will responds say no thanks and turn and walk the other way. Madelyn said don't go but then say but may I please have some candy. Atleast she is not getting in the vehicle.....
4 months
At 4 months Abigail is 15lbs 4oz and 23.75 inches long.
She loves her jolly jumper and excersaucer. She is a much happier baby now. She still is up numerous times a night to visit with Mommy. She still lives in sleepers and only gets real clothes on for very special occasions. She loves to watch her brother and sister and for some reason blinks a lot when they come near.
Will and Madelyn love their little sister, perhaps a bit too much sometimes. They are always wanting to play with her, hold her and if she is crying they try to make her happy, especially Will. They are great helpers fetching diapers, toys etc.
We truly are blessed to have such wonderful children, just remind me of that when I have been up all night with Abigail!

Read-A-Thon
William and Madelyn's preschool is doing a read-a-thon. What a great way to encourage reading. Even at a young age reading to your kids is important. We read stories to the kids before bed each night and usually atleast a couple throughout the day.
To make the read a thon fun they are having a competition between am and pm class to see who can raise the most and the winning class gets an ice cream party. Should be a lot of fun to see which class wins.
If you are interested in sponsoring Will and Maddy on their read a thon let me know. Proceeds are used for their Christmas and end of year party, as well as field trips throughout the year.
